Qualitative and Quantitative

There is two different types of research qualitative and quantitative.
Qualitative is a form of asking a large range of people but not to give them the options such as "Answer A B or C" but for them to give a large summary of an answer themself. This is useful as it can give the researcher the optinity to explore a larger answer and opinion of the people and not give them a linear path to choose from. The problem with this is that people are lazy and will or most likely not bother answer the question or if they do not to give full attention.
Quantitative is more or less the opposite of qualitative, it gives the people a shorter and linear answers to choose from. Though this may not give the full answer and opinion a large variety of questions or answer may be able to make up for this flaw. Plus people will give it their full attention as it is only short and would not waste their time as people never seem to give the time to their time to questionairres.

For my questionairre I shall use both these methods of research, a few linear quantitative questions such as 4 options to choose from then followed by a few open minded questions for them to explore and explain. I will ask them about their opinions on music, music magazines and what they would like to see in them. I will of course divide this up into small segemented questions
