Magazine Analysis

Here, in this magzine this is the genre of music I will be relating to. As you can see it sticks with the dark colours, red, black and the faded baige, it looks professional yet it’s simple and effective. The image covers a majority of the page, which the darkness and fear it produced is enough to stand out from the other music magazines. The image is a close up of one of the band members wearing a mask. The close up is used to focus on the mask and the mouth clenching, showing anger and hate. Also the caption "Somebody's gonna get killed" is enough for anyone wanting to purchased the magazine and read on. The "killed" is appealing to crime, which everyone is intrested in to, see if any trouble is being caused. Also the colour scheme is effective and reinforces the picture, such as the baige matching with the mask. Again if the apply the semiotic theory, the red implys death, blood, which again people will presume with the stereotype to be death and brutal (Ideology) Also the use of buzz words such as "FREE" is grabbing the attention as the audience will always look out for free or cheap items, to get the best for their buck. Also if the main image/headline doesn't appeal to others, there is a features box containing several popular bands, gaining a more variety of the audience. T
